The day began in two beautiful locations on the Equinox property. While Kaela spent the morning getting ready with her closest family and friends at The Meadow House, Robert prepared for the day in the historic Equinox Resort & Spa. There was an unmistakable sense of excitement in the air as the final details came together—hair and makeup were completed, the dress was carefully buttoned, cufflinks were fastened, and everyone paused to appreciate that in just a few short hours, two lives would become one.
Once he was ready, Robert met up with his groomsmen on the lawn for a spirited game of croquet—a wonderfully relaxed way to spend the final moments before seeing his bride. It was filled with laughter, a little friendly competition, and plenty of good-natured banter, perfectly reflecting the fun-loving atmosphere that would carry through the entire day. Soon it was time to put the mallets aside and make his way to one of the most anticipated moments of the day: the first look with Kaela.
One of my favorite parts of every wedding day is documenting these quieter moments before the celebration begins. The anticipation, happy nerves, laughter, and heartfelt interactions with loved ones tell an important part of the story, creating photographs that beautifully capture not only what the day looked like, but how it felt.
