As so many wedding couples this year, Erin and Justin had to postpone their big wedding due to COVID-19, but still wanted to elope on their wedding day, so they decided on an intimate, micro family wedding in Jamaica, Vermont. The family rented a lovely house on Cole's Pond and the immediate family and owners of the house were the only guests.

The lovely flowers were by Tanglebloom in Brookline, Vermont and the officiant was Annie Alexander-Kramer The Parsonne. 

I arrived at the cabin where Justin was getting ready early in hopes of being able to take some detail photographs of the rings and beautiful bridal bouquet.

Although this was a micro family wedding, Erin went all out decorating the deck that looked out over the lake with a yacht club theme. On their Zola page it says their first date was at Jason's yacht club, which turned out to be the most yinzer bar in Fairfield county so maybe this is where Erin got her inspiration from. 

The view over Cole's Pond was just beautiful and it was a perfect day for a Vermont elopement.

Here are some more detail photos of the wedding decorations and fun items Erin found to decorate the table tops and deck. The "In Law's" wine was particularly touching and a lovely sentiment from Erin to Justin's parents.

Erin added some of the flowers from Tanglebloom to the wedding cakes and I think that was a great decision!

Soon it was time for Justin to have his boutonniere pinned on,  get Erin's ring for the ceremony and wait for her arrival.

Most of us are familiar with wine ceremonies during the weddings but since this is Vermont and we have some awesome micro breweries, Justin and Erin wanted to have a beer ceremony instead of the traditional wine one. No they did not mix different beers, LOL, they enjoyed their favorite and mine, Heady Topper from The Alchemist Brewery. Annie proved the crystal cooler and beer stein.

Then it was time for Erin to arrive in her dad's brand new truck. Once Erin was out of the truck she was hidden from sight before she walked down the aisle. 

It was really important for Erin to have me photograph the look on Justin's face when he saw his bride for the first time and I think these photos show how he felt the second he laid eyes on her.

The wedding ceremony was in a beautiful location with Cole's Pond in the background. Here is a gallery of some of my favorite photos from the wedding, including the beer ceremony.

After the ceremony Kodiak, AKA "Best Dog" decided it was so hot a dip in the lake was a good idea and Justin went and retrieved him before we had a quick family and romance photo session.

After Justin retrieved Best Dog from the pond, we had time for some quick family photos and then a few candid and traditional photos before the couple's "special surprise" arrived.

Then the special surprise arrived which was actually a motorized dock to take Erin and Justin for a champagne cruise around Cole's Pond.

When Erin and Justin returned from their romantic cruise, we had just a few more minutes for a quick romance session of the two of them and a "first dance" with the dogs, before they joined their family for a catered dinner on the deck.

I offen have couples ask me how many photographs they can expect in a micro wedding or elopement situation and roughly it is about 75 to 100 per hour, however, a lot depends on the details and time line. When planning your Vermont micro wedding or elopement, always try and allow at least 45 minutes for your romance photo session and if there are a lot of details, which always adds so much to a wedding album, be sure and let me know and I will arrive early to photograph them.
