Leighton House Portrait Shoot

Leighton House Museum is the former home of the Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-1896). The only purpose-built studio-house open to the public in the United Kingdom, it is one of the most remarkable buildings of the nineteenth century, containing a fascinating collection of paintings and sculpture by Leighton and his contemporaries.

It was the perfect location for Catrina's portrait session.

This was a great opportunity for me to work on my fine art portrait portfolio as well as capture some editorial portraits of Catarina. When I return home to Vermont, I plan to offer extremely high-end, fine art portrait photography in the future which will include Old Master's styled 30 X 40 inch prints in one of the collections, as well as beautiful boxed prints and bespoke albums .

As I was photographing Catarina on the stairway,  I noticed her reflection in the polished wood railing so changed my angle to capture it. The peacock was a nice balance to the scene as well as a colorful prop.

Later on Catarina changed into an elegant, slinky, white wedding gown and we continued with the photo session in the red dining room. Leighton House has to be the most amazing venue I have had the pleasure of photographing in and each room seemed to be more opulent and colorful than the previous.

Here are few more photos taken in the red room and the charming blue sitting room as well.

It had been cloudy when we first photographed in that room but now the sun was out and there were some awesome shadows to incorporate in my portraits of Catarina.

Although most of my editorial and music work this year has been in London, I look forward to doing a lot more fine art portrait and fashion sessions when I return home to Vermont. Wedding photography will always be my passion but I have tried to keep my wedding bookings down for 2023 and 2024 by only agreeing to 2 large weddings a month. This will leave me time for fashion, fine art and editorial portrait work as well as smaller weddings and elopements.

Please contact me for more information or to schedule a fine art portrait or fashion session.
